Biography
Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Gargirls Of Samral website! I'm the creator of the famous (or some people might say "infamous" haha), Gargirls. I know that people are curious about artists and their backgrounds, how they got started and what inspired them, so here's a little about me. My name is Scott Koznar (aka "weenie") and I've been doing art since I was 6 years old. I live in the Southern California area. I have a B.S. degree in Art Education and currently a technical writer. I discovered that the art department was always the first to get cut in any school system, so up until recently I worked for 20 years at "The Rocketdyne Division" under the companies 'Rockwell International' and 'Boeing'. They make the Space Shuttle Main Engines.
Since the early 90's, I've been experimenting with adult art/erotica, but it wasn't until 2004 that I discovered the Poser and Bryce 3D programs. I found that I was able to get great results from those programs, which allowed me to bring my artistic vision to life. Above all, I wanted to create something unique and utterly different from other erotic artists out there, and that's when the Gargirls were born! My art is strongly influenced by the Playboy "pin up" style, (thanks Mr. Hefner!), but with a dark twist. The artist Frazetta has also influenced me. Today, I receive much of my inspiration from the great feedback I've gotten from other artists and those who appreciate the 3D format.
As you can see by my art, I like to travel to the hidden frontiers of the mind and explore ideas that other people ignore in their daily lives. I also enjoy the "mischievous" and erotically fun side of my "girls". I won't create something that I personally am not turned on by. Here's my vision of how a Gargirl should look: I feel it's essential to have a paradox... eye candy, sexy, erotic, and female. She must also be nasty, can turn you on like nothing else, and then rip you into pieces and love every second… sort of the forbidden fruit type of thing, only deadly. The paradox of the fragile yet deadly female has always fascinated and inspired me as an artist.
When developing the Gargirls, my goal was to do an ongoing series, which has allowed for more character development and continuity. I've also written text stories for some of the pictures, which gives more meaning to them. I find it fun to come up with off-the-wall stories for my "girls"! For me, it's really all about getting the viewer involved, emotionally and psychologically. One of the most important things, which I can't emphasize strongly enough, is the eye contact my characters have with the viewer. I often work hours getting the eyes just right. If I don't achieve the look I want, I often start all over. Being a perfectionist pays off with the best results.
Besides my Gargirl series, I've written two screenplays, which one day I hope to develop more fully.
I always have a lot of irons in the fire as I enjoy writing as well as creating visual images.
There are many more projects lined up featuring the Gargirls of Samral - posters, a calendar, lingerie, T-shirts, perhaps a picture plate book with text, etc. Lots of exciting things coming up! Send me an email at gargirls001@yahoo.com if you'd like more information, and check back to the site often for updates. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. In the meantime, welcome to the World of Weenie (that's me!) and The Gargirls of Samral.....we're soooooooo glad you came!
